🎶 Platnm
August 2024 - December 2024
Platnm is a mobile application for music enthusiasts to discuss their takes, akin to Letterboxd for music. It allows users to connect to their Spotify accounts, import their favorites, and leave reviews. Users can follow each other and leave comments on their reviews, ultimately fostering musical discourse.

👩🏻💻 Development
This app was developed for a real client as part of Generate at Northeastern, a student-led product development studio. As one of two tech leads, I managed a team of 6 engineers and wrote tickets, reviewed code, and built features. We worked alongside a team of designers, helping to bring their visuals to life in a responsive and efficient mobile application.
The engineering team began by designing a relational database schema and building the backend using Go and Supabase. We also integrated with the Spotify API to pull music data and user favorites. We also integrated with Amazon S3 for storing user profile photos. Once the design team created Figma mockups, we built the front-end using React Native and TypeScript.
This was my first time as a technical lead and it was both rewarding and challenging to guide other engineers. Architecting an app from start to finish was also an exciting challenge — I definitely found many areas for improvement at the end (namely our schema, which had way too many tables, and our frontend design, which had duplication everywhere). However, our final product was an MVP we were all proud of, and it's an app idea that I personally would love to use.
